Presidential Election Results

Hey everyone,

Thanks to all of those who voted (a great turnout this year with 320 votes!).

For those of you who weren’t in the bar/haven’t heard anyway, let us congratulate Jenny Buckley on winning the election for GCSU President 2010-2011 (exact numbers attached)! I will be meeting her later this week to start the handover process (which will strictly last until the end of term. You can contact Jenny at jab236@cam.ac.uk for now (jcrpresident@cai.cam.ac.uk still directs emails to me for the next week or two).

Write for Caiustone

The next edition of Caiustone is in the pipeline but we are always looking for new writers so if you have anything suitable to share please send contributions to tgs25 or rj284 by this weekend.

Thanks,
Rosie and Tom

Presidential Candidates

Hey everyone,

I have received two nominations for GCSU President 2010-2011 to start this year’s race for president! The candidates are:

Jenny Buckley
Gaurav Vohra

Both of their manifestos are attached – Have a read through them (although I’m sure that by the weekend the place will be plastered with them!).

Welfare Split Referendum

The GCSU executive has suggested the splitting of the role of Welfare Officer into Welfare Officer (male) and Welfare Officer (female). These officers would run separately and each have a vote on the executive. All members of the union would be able to voted for each position and each welfare officer would be available to help any member of the union. This would leave the role of Women's Officer as a more political one, open to be held by any member of the union whilst we would no longer look to co-opt a Men's Officer.

Housing Guide Update

It's back up, and this time for good hopefully! Sorry again for the downtime, it was out of our hands. As before, take care with all the changes that have been made - every effort has been made to ensure that the housing guide is accurate, but a few rooms may have slipped through. If in doubt, the list of rooms at the top of the page is direct from the Tutorial Office and so should be 100% accurate (especially with regards to rents, which haven't been updated properly yet).

Happy house hunting :)
