Renowned saxophonist Nigel Hitchcock lives on the Isle of Skye and mainly flies over for high profile tour and session work. We spotted that he was making a special guest appearance at the prestigious 606 Club the night before, and have persuaded him to extend his trip. The winner of three jazz awards, he has played for an endless list of names including Ray Charles, Jamiroquai, James Brown, Pink Floyd,Cher, George Michael, Robbie Williams, Cyndi Lauper, Kylie Minogue, Take That, Brand New Heavies, Moody Blues, Tom Jones, Wet Wet Wet, Kate Bush, Boyzone, Joe Cocker.

Ralph Salmins is by any account one of the foremost living drummers. He’s diverse and prolific, having toured with Van Morrison, guested with the NDR and Count Basie Big Bands, played the Robbie Williams jazz albums and live DVD, and also recorded over 100 movies.

House band of students from Cambridge and London Conservatoires.

Warming-up is the Gwilym Bowen trio.

PS: Gareth Williams has joined the band. He's current pianist for Claire Martin, has toured the world with US3, and runs his own succesful trio.
Critics have said the following about him:

'A triumph of Welsh wizardry. 5 stars’ Garry Booth, BBC Music Magazine.
'Williams is a hugely gifted pianist, with an apparently endless fund of ideas, plus the detachment to organize them into coherent shapes’. Dave Gelly, The Observer.
‘A prodigiously talented pianist… a joyous, uncompromising celebration of sophistication, musicality, muscularity, it’s shockingly good’. Mojo Magazine.
